THE FINAL OF THE COMPETITION ‘I WORK SAFELY 2018’
On November 30th , in PG SILESIA, there was organized a final of the competition „I work safely”. 10 employees with the highest number of points gained in the semi-finals qualified to the great final. Finally, on the podium there were: Łukasz Kamiński – first place, Mariusz Chabirski – second place and Wiktor Ostolski – third place. The main goal of the competition is to promote health and safety rules and broaden the knowledge on it among PG SILESIA employees.
In the great final, the competitors had to face multiple-choice questions. After series of questions, Łukasz Kamiński from ED Department turned out to be unbeatable. Second place was achieved by Mariusz Chabirski from GRP2 Department and third place by Wiktor Ostolski from GRP3 Department. The awards were given to the competitors by the Chief Mining Operations at PG SILESIA, Zbyšek Folwarczny and his Deputy, Piotr Kotzian. For the first place there was an award in the amount of PLN 5 000, the second one in the amount of PLN 4 000 and the third one in the amount of PLN 3 000. In addition, all participants received commemorative diplomas from Chief Mining Operations and finalists from 4-10 places received PLN 1,000 each.
I am very happy with the fact that the competition organized by PG SILESIA is so popular. It is not only the chance to present the knowledge regarding work safety – but it is also the perfect opportunity for us to underline and remind our employees, how the compliance with the occupational safety and health rules at the workplace is important. What is more, our goal constantly remains unchanged - increasing the level of safety standards in the mine. Undoubtedly, the employees themselves have the huge influence on it. That is why increasing the staff awareness and involving them into such activities seem to be the key to strengthen their feeling of responsibility for themselves and their co-workers – summarized Jan Marinov, Chairman of the Board of PG SILESIA.
