Politechnika Śląska is one of the most prestigious and modern technical colleges in Poland. It is known mostly because of the fact that it provides the biggest (in Silesian district) scientific potential in area of engineering and technology. Politechnika Śląska emphasizes development of research and educational potential. It also highlights the increasing impact of the college to innovative projects implemented in Polish industry and in local communities.
Vysoká škola báňská - Technická univerzita Ostrava is the fourth largest university in Czech Republic. It is identified with offering the highest levels of education in technical and economic branches of study. By interconnection of science, research, education, and the creative activity VŠB-TUO has gained recognition not only in Czech Republic but in whole Europe. VŠB-TUO holds promotion of international education and cooperation as a priority, especially in area of innovative technologies’ development.
Górnicza Izba Przemysłowo-Handlowa associates mostly producers of hard coal and lignite, producers of machines and devices but also service companies and research-development entities. GIPH represents interests of its members towards government bodies as well as local authorities. Main aim of GIPH is supporting and securing interests of the members but also promotion of associated entities in Poland and abroad. Very important aspect is also creating appropriate image of economy’s sectors which are represented in GIPH.
Główny Instytut Górnictwa is a research and development entity connected with exploitation industry. It is strictly connected with Upper Silesia’s region and its main areas of activity are: mining, environmental engineering, tasks related to quality, education and trainings. PG SILESIA cooperates with GIG in area of mining surface protection and tasks related to rock mass geophysics and geomechanics. The cooperation also includes research of mine’s radiochemistry.
Akademia Górniczo-Hutnicza is a modern, public nationwide University, developing partnership with universities in Europe and all over the world. Akademia Górniczo-Hutnicza is a technical university in which sciences have a very strong representation and are the base for development of wide range of applied sciences and gradually increasing a role of humanities. It creates new directions of educations in line with global trends of development, preserving classic ones, essential for science development, technics and country’s economy.
