NEW DEMETHANIZATION STATION GIVEN INTO USE IN PG SILESIA

At the end of January 2018, a new demethanization station was put into operation in PG SILESIA. The investment, worth approximately PLN 8 million, is aimed at increasing the safety of the crew working underground and implementing ambitious production plans of the mine.

The construction of the new demethanization station is another key investment in PG SILESIA. Construction works began in November 2016, and the first pulling the methane from the underground took place on January 26, 2018. At that time, the entire project was completed and the newly built station was given into use. This investment is another proof that PG SILESIA consistently pursues the company’s aim, which is to become a leader not only in the field of applied technologies, but also in the area of safety and efficiency.

The new demethanization station, built in PG SILESIA, is one of the most modern in the whole Polish mining industry. The technologically advanced devices and systems allow to fully automate the work of the station. Noteworthy is the fact that thanks to the remote parameters control system it can be operated automatically. Together with the associated infrastructure the station was designed and manufactured by ZOK Sp. z o.o. from Jastrzębie Zdrój.

Many times we have emphasized that the most important thing for us is safety of miners. Therefore, from the very beginning, one of the priorities was to build a new, more efficient demethanization station. Undoubtedly, all currently implemented investments are aimed at increasing the safety standards, but also at enabling the implementation of our production plans. Modern equipment, motivated crew and increasing the safety level are the best guarantee of mine efficiency - said Michal Heřman, General Director and the Chairman of the Management Board of PG SILESIA.
