PG SILESIA HONOURED WITH THE TITLE ‘SUPER COMPANY A.D. 2015’ AND GOLDEN LAUREL OF ABILITIES AND COMPETENCE

During last month PG SILESIA has been honored with two prestigious awards. In December 2015 the Company received an award ‘SUPER COMPANY A.D. 2015’ and at the beginning of the year it was honored with the Golden Laurel of Abilities and Competence.

On Saturday, 16th of January 2016, in Dom Muzyki i Tańca in Zabrze, XXIV gala of Laurels of Abilities and Competence took place. The event was organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Katowice. Every year companies which - by their activities - support the process of implementing changes in the region and in whole country, and which create positive image of Poland in the world, are being awarded by the Jury. This year Golden Laurel of Abilities and Competence was given to Przedsiębiortswo Górnicze ‘SILESIA’ Sp. z o.o. Laurels of Abilities and Competence is an annual event during which the statuettes - representing the tribute to the winners - are given in the categories of economy, science and culture. The history of Laurels dates back the year 1992, when activists from the local government, associated in Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Katowice, took the initiative of awarding the outstanding people, companies, organizations and institutions. The idea was to award these ones who take an active part in the process of creating a market economy, its restructuration and its adaptation to the European standards. The award was given to the Chairman of the Board of PG SILESIA, Michal Heřman, by the Chairman of Chamber of Commerce and Industry Laury, Tadeusz Donocik.

Golden Laurel of Abilities and Competence is the second important award which PG SILESIA recently has been given. In December 2015 the Company was honored with the title ‘SUPER COMPANY A.D. 2015’. Uninterruptedly since 2000 the jury, consisting of local entrepreneurs, has awarded the title of "SUPER COMPANY '. The primary purpose of this award is to draw attention to the company or financial institution from the closest neighborhood of entrepreneurs, which achieves market success and positively influences on the development of entrepreneurship in Czechowice-Dziedzice. Every year the criteria for winner selection are determined by the present holders of the title. This year PG SILESIA proved to be unbeatable.

PG SILESIA was honored primarily for creating, from scratch, a modern mining company which employs more than 1,700 workers; for innovation in production, management and attention to work safety; for creating a modern industrial infrastructure with maintaining the old parts of the mine and its surroundings, as well as for positive actions dedicated to the local community. The prize - a composition of POLISH EAGLE, made entirely of Soviet watches - was given to the Chairman Michal Heřman from the mayor of Czechowice-Dziedzice – Marian Błachut, and also by the Chairman of Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Katowice – Tadeusz Donocik and the Chairman of the City Council – Damian Żelazny.

All awards, we have received during last 5 years, are of huge importance for us. They confirm that PG SILESIA is seen, by the closest environment, as a modern and perspective company which main aim is the continuous development. We, in turn, do not take it for granted. We want to be safe and effective mine, which prioritizes implementing the most modern technological solutions. But in the same time we operate in accordance with ethic principles, said Michal Heřman, Chairman of the Board of PG SILESIA.
