PG SILESIA as a partner of X Jubilee Edition of Winter Championship in Emergency Medical Services.

On 28th of January 2015, at PG SILESIA premises, X Winter Championship in Emergency Medical Services took place. The units participating in competitions performed practical tasks at the mine’s area. Bielsko-Biała Ambulance Service and Bielsko-Biała District were an organizer of the entire project.

On Wednesday, 28th of January 2015, PG SILESIA at their premises hosted the participants of X International Winter Championship in Emergency Medical Services . Starting at 7:00 particular units were driving into the area of the mine to perform there certain practical tasks. The appropriate transport of injured, cooperation with mining rescue team, quick analysis of injuries and introducing particular procedures – these components (among others) were the basis for the assessments of performed by the participants tasks.

45 units from Poland and 10 foreign teams (among others from Greece, Ukraine, Lithuania and Germany) signed up in the competitions. The honorary patronage over the event was taken by: the Minister of Health – Bartosz Arłukowicz, the Minister of Labor and Social Policy – Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, the Marshal of Silesian Voivodship - Wojciech Saługa, the Governor of Silesia – Piotr Litwa and the Member of Polish Parliament Małgorzata Pępek.

Bielsko-Biała Ambulance Service and Bielsko-Biała District have been organizing together the championship in emergency medical service for several years. The competition is open to primary and specialized mobile teams of Ambulance Service, as well as to other units of rescue teams (ALS). PG SILESIA for the first time was the event’s partner. The main goal of the entire project is to improve the rescue skills of all participants and the overall promotion of safety rules.

The safety issue is a priority for all of us. Ensuring safe working conditions and elimination of potential risks are the most important tasks undertaken by the Board, Direction and Management of PG SILESIA. In this regard we anticipate mainly periodic inspections, implementation of programs for safety and healthy working conditions improvement, as well as continuous improvement of employees’ qualifications. In addition to our internal activities we try to promote also local and national initiatives, whose main goal is to spread safety rules. Therefor we decided to host X International Winter Championship in Emergency Medical Services at PG SILESIA premises. We all know that it is never too much about safety – said Michal Heřman, the Chairman of the Board at PG SILESIA.
