THE FINAL OF THE COMPETITION "I WORK SAFELY 2019"
The final of the 'I Work Safely 2019' competition took place on 28th November at PG SILESIA. After a fierce competition, the first place was taken by an employee of the TG Department – Marek Paszek. The second place on the podium was taken by Wojciech Wyczesany from MSE and the third one by Wojciech Byrski from TW Department.
It has already become a tradition that a few days before St. Barbara's Day, in hard coal mines in Poland, there are organized competitions "I Work Safely". The main goal of this project is to promote knowledge about safety. This year, a large group of employees applied for qualifiers, 27 of whom qualified for the semi-finals. The final of the competition took place on 28th of November between 11 contestants.
The formula of the competition is the same every year - in the final round participants have to face multiple choice questions, previously prepared by employees of the OHS Department. Despite the fact that this year the level of questions was very high, the participants coped with them very well. The awards and diplomas were handed in to the contestants by Zbigniew Ciepliński, the Chief Engineer at PG SILESIA. Let us remind that the first place is awarded with a prize in the amount of PLN 5,000, the second place with PLN 4,000, the third place with PLN 3,000, while the participants from places IV-X receive PLN 1,000 each.
PG SILESIA is one of the mines where the tradition of organizing such competitions is particularly important. Being one of the most modern and effective mines in Poland, safety in the workplace is of great importance to us. It is worth noting that despite the constantly increasing level of safety in Polish mines, accidents often occur. Therefore, we do our best to ensure that the level of knowledge and competence of our employees is as high as possible. We believe that the 'I Work Safely' competition is not only an opportunity for an additional bonus for employees. First of all, it gives the opportunity to promote 'ambassadors of safe work' and it is they who share this knowledge with their co-workers on a daily basis - said Jan Marinov, President of the Management Board of PG Silesia.
