PG SILESIA signs a contract on skip/shaft modernization

PG SILESIA informs that on 30th of November 2011 it signed a contract on skip/shaft modernization. The works will be done by consortium, which leader is SIEMAG TECBERG Polska Sp. z o.o. Cost of the investment amounts to tens of millions Polish zlotys.

Under this contract consortium will prepare project documentation and will complete modernization of the skip no 2. In next 10 years, consortium will be also providing maintenance service. The scope of work includes also supervision of the investment and obtaining all required permits, opinion and admissions in the extend justified by applicable law.

Skip is a kind of transport lift which connects underground with the surface. It is one of the most critical places of every mine. From its capacity depends the amount of output and the output has direct impact on the efficiency.

It is very important stage in modernization works. Achieving assumed coal production for 2013, at the level of 3 million tons per year, depends on succeeding in realization of this investment Therefore, company with international experience guaranteeing modern solutions, has been committed to implementation of this investment. – said Jiří Paštika, Chairman of the Board and CEO of PG SILESIA.

Designing works will start at the beginning of December this year, and the reconstruction of the skip itself will start at the beginning of February 2012. The project is to be completed within 21 months. Cost of the investment amounts to tens of millions Polish zlotys.
