Moreover, the complex will be equipped with the ‘e-kopalnia’ (IT) system, which allows to remote monitor and diagnose a technical condition of the mining machines.

This investment is a part of second stage of implementation of PG SILESIA’s strategic goals. First stage, including modernization and preparatory works, started in December 2010, after taking over the mine, and have lasted until April 2012, when production from longwall 160 started. During this time PG SILESIA revitalized the mine, bought modern equipment and technologies and doubled headcount. Investments and preproduction operation costs amount to approximately 520 million Polish zlotys.

Second stage, which main aim is to increase the production, includes, for example, preparation of the next longwall. Moreover, skip/shaft modernization will have been completed as well as building of underground coal bunker with capacity of 5 thousand ton. Production is to increase from 5 up to 10 thousand ton per day, and the extraction will be conducted from two longwalls at the same time. Completing this stage and stabilization of the production level is planned for the end of 2013.
