PG SILESIA HONORED WITH THE TITLE ‘THE POWER OF POLISH MINING 2017’
During the official gala, organized on 24th of November 2017, in the historical interior of Monopol Hotel in Katowice, PG SILESIA was honored with the title ‘The Power of Polish Mining 2017’. The award is given by the editorials of ‘Monitor Biznesu’ (insert to ‘Rzeczpospolita’ newspaper) and ‘Monitor Rynkowy’ (distributed with ‘Dziennik Gazeta Prawna’). The main goal of the award is promoting the companies and institutions which are successful in various areas of their businesses and which introduce the most interesting innovations within the industry they represent.
The Jury of the contest underlined primarily the efficient and successful modernization process of 100-year-old Silesia mine conducted by PG SILESIA. They also pointed out the importance of innovative working system, thanks to which saving and creating hundreds new working places in Podbeskidzie region was possible. The jury also noted that PG SILESIA is an active part in ensuring the educational and professional possibilities for local communities. According to them PG SILESIA is engaged in developing the region where it operates.
The hosts of the event have underlined that even if the winners represent different branches they are all the same in seeking and implementing innovations, executing excellent management policy and being active in developing local communities.
It is a great honor for us that we can describe ourselves as the power of Polish mining. Multimillion investments implemented during last 7 years, which main aim was to restore production capacity of over the hundred-year-old mine, with no doubts are crucial factors of PG SILESIA success. Nevertheless, I would like to underline that we would not be here today if it was not for our employees – their engagement and professionalism. It is their determination and every-day-work which represent the power not only of PG SILESIA but also the power of whole Polish mining sector – said Michal Heřman, Chairman of the Board of PG SILESIA.
