HE FINAL OF THE COMPETITION ‘I WORK SAFELY 2017’
On 24th of November, in PG SILESIA, there was organized a final of the competition „I work safely 2017”. 10 employees with the highest number of points gained in the semi-finals qualified to the finals. Finally, on the podium there were: Dawid Dargas – first place, Adrian Michulec – second place and Wojciech Dłóciok – third place. The main objective of the competition is to promote health and safety rules and broaden the knowledge on it among PG SILESIA employees.
As in previous years, in the final, the competitors had to face multiple-choice questions. After five rounds of questions, Dawid Dargas from GRP1 Department turned out to be unbeatable. Second place was achieved by Adrian Michulec from G2 Department and third place by Wojciech Dłóciok from G1 Department. The awards were given to the competitors by the Chief Mining Operations at PG SILESIA, Zbyšek Folwarczny, and by the Chief Engineer, Piotr Kotzian. For the first place there was an award in the amount of PLN 5 000, the second one in the amount of PLN 4 000 and the third one in the amount of PLN 3 000. In addition, all participants received commemorative diplomas from Chief Mining Operations and finalists from 4-10 places received PLN 1,000 each.
From the very beginning of our operations promoting the safety principles has been a priority for us - we do not compromise in here. The specificity of the work in the mine requires continuous improvement - especially in the field of safety and health. Every employee of PG SILESIA is aware of the fact that his or her approach and way of performing daily work, often determines the health and even the life of his or her colleagues. We want our employees to feel safe. We also want the principles they speak about during the competition to be implemented and respected at their daily work. I am full of admiration for the finalists' knowledge and I firmly believe that they will be a role model and inspiration for their colleagues - said Michal Heřman, the Chairman of the Management Board of PG SILESIA.
