Pumping station worth PLN 2,5 mln given into service

PG SILESIA completed the modernization of pumping station in Goczałkowice-Zdrój. On 18th of June 2014, on this occasion, there was a symbolic ribbon cutting, which was made by Michal Heřman, the chairman of the Board of PG SILESIA and Paweł Sadza, the prefect of Pszczyna district.

This event was graced with the presence of many distinguished guests – the mayor of Goczałkowice, representatives of Pszczyna District, State and District Mining Authority Office or local government.
This is our next investment dedicated to local community. Taking into account inhabitants, our employees or the natural environment, everything that we do we try to do responsibly, but all actions focused on Goczałkowice have a special priority to us. We believe in dialogue. We believe that by talking we can achieve more – said Michal Heřman.

Drainage of groundwater pumping station in Goczałkowice-Zdrój, at Stawowa street, was constructed in 1976 to drain the part of Potok Goczałkowicki's catchment ( the area of 2,5 km2). The pumping station did not have the backup power source and the basic source – because of its location – was covered with water during the flood, which every time resulted in switching off the power.

The upgraded pumping station along with accompanying facilities, due to the increased capacity of reservoirs, will improve significantly the security of the land directly adjacent to the pumping station.
